A Veterans Day Pledge
A Veterans Day Pledge!
If there are any blessings connected with being a combat veteran who has seen ultimate sacrifices, one is having a crystal clear understanding of what being lucky means.
So far in 2009 I’ve been very lucky indeed. As the new president of The Veterans Corporation I have been tasked to make the non-profit organization self-reliant. With the help of some other lucky Veterans I raised $1,000,000 for Veteran small business projects with only a 3% cost factor. That means that $970,000 of the grants obtained this year go directly to a Veteran small business serving our Veterans with PTSD and to another Veteran sponsored business trying to create call center jobs in their own local community. I pledge to keep on asking for help so we can do more of the same.
The Veterans Corporation is an institution in transition that needs to “change” and foster volunteerism. On faith, and with private financial support, I have created Change Corp for Veteran Entrepreneurs Project to provide an open source tool for Veteran small businesses. This Project now needs to create a steady stream of quality Questions and Answers for Veteran small businesses and then let them rate our services. I pledge to make sure posted Questions get responses. The Veterans Corporation will accept help from any motivated person, whether you’re a Veteran or not, who will share your strength and experience to help a Veteran small business.
This is my first Veterans Day as a leader of a Veterans Organization and my pledge is that I will never quit trying to help all of you Veterans. I’m one of the lucky Veterans so this is my daily pledge too.
Thank for your service and wish me luck!

It's about time someone addressed this issue, as I continuously see veterans who are in need of aid that can assist in their business endeavors. I hope the outlined programs can be similar to the Pell Grant qualifications that have allowed millions of people from across the country to attend college. This way it will be done in a professional manner that can benefit the most amount ofpeople in the least amount of time.
